REPRESENTED BY CHRISTINA HILTSCHER

“The viewers of my works can immerse themselves and let their own imagination flow. If you let yourself drift, you become an artist in dialogue with the pictures“
Witty was born in 1966 in Herisau. Today she lives and works in Canton Zug. She has always been interested in colours and shapes. For her painting is pure passion. To lay different layers of paint on top of each other or next to each other is like a poem. She loves to work creatively with tools and “carriers” and always works on several projects at the same time. A process that gives her strength, energy but also peace and quiet. Impressions from her travels, her own zoom-photos of floors and old walls inspire her. In this way she lets her harmonious pictures emerge spontaneously from the unconscious.
The many different layers created by combining colours, stone flour, rust, pigments, bitumen and natural materials give the artworks a fascinating depth. The unusual utensils she uses for this purpose create interesting structures and accentuated surfaces. She gives free reign to both forms and colours.
Witty has her own painting school and gallery for over 15 years now and has taken part in many projects, events, cultural and personal exhibitions at home and abroad including New York.
Witty has a pronounced desire to experiment, so she is always trying out new materials. Currently she also uses gold leaf, rabbit glue and synthetic resin in her paintings.
